Former Microsoft Exec Named Cheyenne Mountain VP of Marketing

Darren Steele, a veteran of Microsoft, Ethix Media and Access Software, has been named Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment’s vice president of marketing.
Steele brings 12 years of experience directing the marketing for more than 30 consumer software brands. He worked for 7 years as a senior marketer at Microsoft, where he led the marketing efforts for a $200 million Xbox games portfolio and a $300 million segment of the US Windows XP business.
After leaving Microsoft, Steele joined startup Ethix Media as the vice president of marketing, where he led the marketing team through the launch of the web application Homeminders.
Previously, Steele worked at Access Software, the creators of the bestselling Links golf franchise, where he served as the director of marketing prior to the company’s acquisition by Microsoft in 1999.
“Darren is one of the final key executives we have recruited to form a world-class entertainment software leadership team,” said Tim Jenson, CEO and president of Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment. “His experience brings the strategic leadership needed to achieve our aggressive marketing objectives.”
Steele has an MBA from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management.
