Former Turbine Exec Named CME Vice President and Studio Head

May 29, 2007
Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment’s strategy of hiring top industry talent to fill its managerial positions paid dividends with the hiring of James Jones as vice president and studio head.

Mr. Jones played a key role in the successful launches of both the Lord of the Rings Online and the Dungeons & Dragons Online MMORPGs. Mr. Jones was an executive producer at Turbine where he was part of the team that crafted the company’s project management and studio operations departments that were responsible for orchestrating all Turbine product launches.

“Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment is committed to filling every position with the best possible candidate,” said Tim Jenson, president and CEO of Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment. “We know the role James played in the successful launch of two big time titles and recognized that he would be an incredible asset to the CME team.”

Prior to joining Turbine, Mr. Jones was president, chief operating officer and an original founder of early MMO developer Artifact Entertainment. At Artifact, he also served as executive producer on Horizons: Empire of Istaria, an MMO that was published by Atari in 2003.
